Ever since it was established in 1968, Air Zermatt has been dedicated to saving people’s lives. This principle is firmly anchored in the Valais air rescuer’s DNA, and has always been the driving force behind everything they do. As a pioneer in its field, Air Zermatt has been blazing the trail since the very beginning – with a direct rescue from the north face of the Eiger and the world’s first rescue of 70 people from a cable car being just two of the many past highlights. And this pioneering spirit is a strong as ever. Every year, Air Zermatt flies over 2,000 rescue missions at high altitudes, sometimes under extreme conditions – always with a view to helping those in distress. Several times now, Air Zermatt pilots have received the “Heroism Award”, the highest honor in aviation, for their courageous undertakings.

Description

Transportation and sightseeing

But Air Zermatt is much more than a rescue service. Transport flights bring life and supplies to the most remote areas, while sightseeing trips allow passengers to admire the unique beauty of the mountains – around the Matterhorn, along the UNESCO World Heritage Site above the Aletsch Glacier or to the Jungfraujoch. An unforgettable experience with breathtaking views!

Air Zermatt Training Center

The Air Zermatt Training Center is dedicated to passing on valuable expertise gained from years of experience. The trainers are themselves on rescue duty on a daily basis, and share their extensive know-how in an authentic approach and at the highest professional level. The courses and professional development training are designed to be practice-based. They are aimed at both professionals and amateurs and are tailored to local, regional, national and international needs. Every year, around 20 experienced instructors are on hand to pass on their expertise to some 1,000 participants from all over the world. With its Training Center, Air Zermatt actively contributes not only to meeting existing standards in rescue and safety, but also to developing these standards further and setting new ones.
